The Magic Sauce

Have you ever attempted to do something but no matter how many times you stepped up to the plate you struck out? It can be easy to give up when you’ve made so many attempts to succeed and each attempt fails. What is the magic sauce? How is it that some people succeed and others feel like they are spinning their wheels going nowhere?

There were a couple of clubs on our route that had rejected the gifts for several years in a row. But, we didn’t let this discourage us. We filled our hands with the cute pink gifts and off we went. We were hopeful that this would be the year we could give the gifts to the women. We approached the door with confidence and the expectation that access would be granted.

At one club, we introduced ourselves and shook hands with the bouncer, he quickly called the club manager over. Then something magical happened…he recognized us! Turns out he had been the manager on duty every time we had visited his club for the past several years, and he finally understood that we were not going to stop trying. He asked if we would like to go in and personally hand the gifts to the women. We were elated, we knew it, we knew this was the year!!! As we stepped through the heavy red curtains, we heard, “ALL LADIES TO THE DRESSING ROOM, EXECUTIVE ORDER, ALL LADIES TO THE DRESSING ROOM.” We stood in the dressing room, smiling ear to ear as each women walked in curiously.. Once all the women were inside, he announced that we were there to give them gifts! The dressing room was filled with excitement and the women hugged us and thanked us. We even had a chance to personally connect with many of the women.

So, what was the magic sauce? How were we allowed into a club that we were continually turned away from year after year? Are you ready for it? It was our persistence and our perspective. Every time we visited the club, we saw it as a new opportunity. Our amazing experience didn’t just happen, we had to keep at it when the odds were stacked against us. To loosely quote Theodore Roosevelt, “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, and difficulty…”. How many times do we look at someone’s life and not consider the blood, sweat and tears it took to get there?!

This journey called life can be difficult and at times it can be almost unbearable, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you are currently working in the sex industry we are here for you, you are not alone. We would love to send you a special gift, please visit-
