TREASURES TRAINING: ATTENDEE INTERVIEW
If you have been considering attending one of our national outreach training, you can hear from one of our recent trained network members, Kelly Master in South Jersey, about her personal experience. Kelly attended our April training in Pasadena, California. Within 2-3 weeks of returning, she had launched their first strip club outreach in South Jersey.
1.When did you first decide to reach out to women in strip clubs and why?
September 2011. I read Scars and Stilletto’s and was blown away. I understood in that moment that there are multitudes of other Harmony’s in the clubs that need someone to love them and be Jesus to them.
2. How did you first hear about training?
After seeing my friend Carl Thomas’ post about Scars and Stilletto’s I purchased the book, read it and asked Carl how to get involved. He gave me a lovely young lady named Tara’s email and I emailed her. Tara told me the first step would be strip church training and I signed up.
3. Why did you want to attend the Training?
I was excited to learn more about this ministry that was reaching women in the sex industry.
4. How did the training prepare you for doing strip club ministry?
The training was absolutely invaluable! I would have never been able to launch as quickly as we did without learning all Harmony and the team taught us. They literally walked us through step by step and we followed it step by step. The training was fabulous and worth the travel and money spent.
5. What would you tell others who are thinking about starting a strip club outreach?
First and foremost, attend the training. These are women who were in the industry and who have over nine years outreach experience. The training is loaded with nuggets of wisdom!
Second – do it! Saturate your teams and outreaches in prayer, take your training with you on the outreach and shine your light brightly!
